Family Dentistry on Locke

Porcelain Veneers in Hamilton, Ontario

Dr. Henrique Bueno has practiced dentistry since 1995, first in São Paulo and now at Family Dentistry on Locke. His passion and approach to dentistry is based on biomimetic dentistry, and that background matters most with veneers, where the difference between a natural result and an obviously fake one comes down to respecting the tooth underneath the porcelain, not just covering it. We’re at 101 Locke St S, Suite 1A, in downtown Hamilton, Ontario L8P 4A6.

Why our veneers don't look like veneers

A lot of veneer work treats the tooth as a blank surface: file it down, cement on a shell, done. Dr. Bueno’s approach starts from the tooth’s own structure. That means:

A common case we see

A patient comes in unhappy with one or two chipped or discolored front teeth, usually from an old injury or years of coffee and wine staining that whitening alone didn’t fix. Sometimes they’ve already asked about whitening and found out it won’t touch a chip or close a gap. That’s usually the point where veneers, not another round of whitening, are the right call, and it’s exactly what the exam is for: figuring out which one actually solves what’s bothering you.

Won't veneers look fake?

Not if the prep respects your bite and your natural tooth shape, which is the difference between Dr. Bueno’s restorative approach and a generic cosmetic swap. Porcelain also resists staining far better than composite bonding does, so the color holds instead of yellowing at the edges over a couple of years.

Porcelain vs. composite

We work in porcelain for veneers because it holds its shade and shape longer with normal care. Composite bonding exists too, it’s faster and less expensive for smaller fixes, but it doesn’t hold up the same way over years. If you’re weighing the two, that trade-off is worth talking through at your exam rather than guessing from a price tag.

What it costs

Veneers run about $1,500 per tooth on average. A full smile, every upper and lower tooth, is closer to $40,000. Most patients need far fewer than that, the exam is what tells you how many teeth actually need one.

Not sure if veneers or teeth whitening is the right fix? Both live under our cosmetic dentistry page or start with a consultation and we’ll figure out which one actually solves what’s bothering you.

Patients mention the same two things about treatment here: the team explains what they’re doing before they do it, and nobody feels rushed through a decision this visible. We’re LGBTQ+ friendly, and Dr. Bueno’s restorative training means the plan starts with your bite, not just the four teeth you see in photos.
